If you become unemployed

Citizens of an EU member state, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland can register as a jobseeker online using the TE Services' E-services (Oma asiointi). Citizens of other countries must start their job hunting process by visiting a TE Office personally. Please bring proof of identity and your residence permit with you.

If you cannot register as a jobseeker online, fill in the Form for jobseekers and take the signed form personally to a TE Office. After registration, the TE Office will contact you. You can find the Form for jobseekers on the website of TE Services.

Fennovoima Hanhikivi 1 –nuclear power plant project in Pyhäjoki

Fennovoima will construct Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant unit in Pyhäjoki. The plant will be supplied by RAOS Project Oy, which is part of the Russian Rosatom Group. According to an agreed schedule, the nuclear power plant will produce electricity in 2024. The planning and construction of the nuclear power plant is an extensive project that will take around 10 years to complete.

During the construction of the nuclear power plant, there will be as many as 3,000–4,000 workers in the area. The employer will provide accommodation for most of the employees, and the objective is to provide housing as close to the construction site as possible. Accommodation will be built in the immediate vicinity of the nuclear power plant area for 1,000 people.

Preparations for the nuclear power plant project have been under way for several years in Pyhäjoki and the surrounding area. Information on the area has been gathered, for example, in the Hanhikivi guide that has been published in Finnish, English, Swedish and Russian. Electronic versions of the guide can be found on the project website. You can find a printed guide in the business service centres of the municipalities in the area.
