Omaishoidon tuki

The informal carer is entitled to at least three free days a month. This applies to months in which the care work places a considerable commitment upon the carer. The municipality will then organise replacement care for these free days.

The websites of the Association of Care Giving Relatives and Friends (Omaishoitajat ja Läheiset -Liitto ry) and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health contain information on informal care and the support available. Ask your local social welfare office whether you are entitled to receive informal care support.
