Yhdistyksen rekisteröinti
An association does not have to be registered. Moreover, registration is usually recommended as it makes organising the association activities easier:
- The responsibility for the activities of registered associations remains with the Board of Directors rather than on individual members of the associations
- Registered associations are official associations that can apply for project funding and for financial assistance
- An association may hold its own bank account
- An association may be granted a permission for fundraising
- An association can apply to use certain meeting premises free of charge or at a reduced rate
- Third parties have greater trust in registered organisations and people are more likely to join a registered association rather than an unregistered association
- It is easier to cooperate and enter into agreements with other associations and authorities
