Social and Crisis Emergency Services
Immediate help in a crisis can be obtained around the clock from Espoo Social and Crisis Emergency Services in Finnish, Swedish and English, tel. (09) 8164 2439. Where necessary, the operator will order an interpreter. Contact may be made for issues relating, for example, to mental health, exhaustion, child welfare and situations of violence.
The service is confidential and free of charge. Callers may also remain anonymous if they wish. Social and Crisis Emergency Services operators discuss the situation with the customer, give advice and, if necessary, will also arrange to visit the caller to solve the problem on site.

Health Problems

Family Advice Centre
The family advice centre provides expert assistance in matters concerning the psychological growth and development of children and young people. Young people may also make contact themselves. Adults may seek help for personal and relationship problems. The family advice centre provides services for Kauniainen residents in Finnish and Swedish. Visits are confidential and free of charge for those permanently resident in Finland who fall within the sphere of social insurance.

Help for issues involving substance abuse can be sought from the social security office or the health centre, who will refer the customer where necessary to specialist services for the treatment of substance abuse.
