How to Use the Info Bank

Näin käytät Infopankkia

You can return to the language options page at any point by clicking the map in the top left corner.

You can change the language at any time. Select the language from the top of the page to open the new language version on the same page.

The breadcrumb trail at the top of the page tells you where you are. You can also use the breadcrumb trail to return to the front page.

Some of the difficult terms are explained on the Finnish pages.

The main menu is divided into essential questions relating to immigration and living in Finland. You can view the main menu at any point by clicking the arrow underneath the title “Select Subject” on the left side of the page.

The Key word search helps you to find information even when you do not know where to look. You can search for information in relation to one language version at a time.

Our aim is for the Info Bank to provide as many links as possible to other sites containing useful information in different languages. This is not always possible. If the website of the relevant authority does not have a page matching the language version that you are using in the Info Bank, the links will take you to the Finnish page. However, the websites of authorities often have information on the topic in Swedish or English. For example, select ’English’ at the top of the page to view the information on the same Info Bank page in English.

On the right-hand side of each page, we have provided “Local Information” on the topic in question. To find out about the services available near you, click on the name of your town on the list or on the map. The map section titled Helsinki Region contains information about Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen. The selection of languages in which the local information is provided varies between the municipalities. We will add more towns to the list as local service providers send us their details.
