If you become sick, you can go to either a health centre (terveyskeskukset) doctor or a private doctor. Health centre doctors take patients only on weekdays and during the day.
The doctor is fixed on the basis of the address of the resident. Appointments are scheduled with the appointed doctor of your area (vastaanotto).

When you find that you are pregnant, book an appointment at the nearest Child Health Centre (neuvola)
Mental health
Mental health services for adults (mielenterveyspalvelut) are provided by Kuopio psychiatric centre (address: Kotkankallionkatu 14)
For children, mental health services are provided by the child and adolescent unit (lasten ja nuorten yksikkö) of the of the Social and Health Services. The address is Tulliportinkatu 15 H, 4. floor.
Sexuality
The family planning clinic (perhesuunnittelu) helps you with family planning and contraception matters.
