The Finnish Education System is divided into basic education, secondary education, higher education and adult education.

Basic Education is the gateway to further education.

Secondary Education can be vocational training or alternatively, can be a step towards higher education.

Higher Education is education in polytechnics, universities and other institutes of higher education.
