Vantaa lies adjacent to Helsinki and Espoo , in the Province of Southern Finland .Helsinki-Vantaa airport is located in Vantaa .At the beginning of 2009 Vantaa was home to 196,000 inhabitants, making it Finland ’s fourth largest city. More than 18,000, equating to 9.1 % of the population, are of foreign background.

Citizen’s Offices
Guidance and general advice concerning services provided by the City of Vantaa and its partners can be obtained from Citizen’s Offices.The bodies cooperating through Citizen’s Offices comprise the police, the Administrative Council, the Employment and Economic Development Office, HSL , the Tax Office and Vantaa parish.Where necessary, Citizen’s Offices will redirect customers to specialist services.Citizen’s Offices also produce brochures relating to leisure activities, culture, hobbies and outdoor recreation as well as information on local events.
Vantaa has three Citizen’s Offices, located at Korso, Myyrmäki and Tikkurila.
Opening times: Myyrmäki and Tikkurila offices are open Mon-Thu 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Fri 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Korso office is open Mon-Thu 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Fri 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Multi-Service Office for Immigrants
The Multi-Service Office for Immigrants is responsible for integration tasks in the initial stages of immigration for refugees received by the City of Vantaa and for returnees arriving from areas of the former Soviet Union .Counselling services are also provided for people arriving in the country on the basis of family ties (marriage).An interpreter will always be supplied for the customer where this is necessary.
Integration services include guidance and advice in various practical matters and on how to apply for other services, an accommodation guide, social services, health services, and guidance on Finnish language courses and other activities.

Hakunila International Organisation
The Hakunila International Organisation Help Desk serves immigrants in Hakunila, Koivukylä and other areas of Vantaa who need information concerning, for example, study, courses, employment, leisure activities, crises or legal matters. The service is free of charge.

Silkin Portti multicultural workshop
