Help and support in a crisis is available from the Savonlinna Crisis Centre (Savonlinnan kriisikeskus). Such crises may include, for example, accidents, the death of a loved one, domestic violence, illness, problems in an intimate relationship, and other unexpected life changes.
You can call if you need someone to listen. You can also make an appointment with a crisis worker. The crisis centre website contains information in Finnish.

Problems of young people (Nuorten ongelmat)
The South Savo webpages concerned with youth communication contain information for young people in Finnish, including links, on questions relating to living in another country, study, working life, leisure, various problem situations and health and intimate relationships.
Where necessary, the school welfare officer (koulun kuraattori) of the school concerned will help with various problem situations. Young people may also make use of services provided by the Savonlinna Crisis Centre.

Death (Kuolema)
Services in Savonlinna relating to burial are the responsibility of Savonlinna-Säämingi parish. A fee is charged for funeral services, although aid may be obtained. The cemetery has consecrated ground for members of both the Lutheran and Orthodox churches. Members of other religious communities may also be buried in the cemetery, which also contains a burial ground for those who belong to no religious community.Finnish.
