The service was produced as part of the Open Learning Centre project (in 2001-2003) which was coordinated jointly by the International Cultural Centre Caisa and Helsinki City Library. The project was funded by City of Helsinki and the European Social Fund. In 2005, the Info Bank was turned into a nationwide service. The website now contains essential information relating to the whole country as well as local information on Helsinki, Kuopio, Rovaniemi, Turku, Tampere and the Kainuu Region. At the moment, the service is sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Education and the participating cities.
You can return to the language options page at any point by clicking the map in the top left corner. You can change the language at any time. Select the language from the top of the page to open the new language version on the same page. On the top right corner of each page, we have provided “Local Information” on the topic in question. Click on the name of your town on the list to find out about the services available near you. We will add more towns to the list as local service providers send us their details.
