Drug Abuse

Huumeongelmat

If you require help for drug abuse, you can contact your local A-Clinic. The services of the A-Clinic of your home municipality are free for customers who are permanent residents of Finland.

People below the age of 25 years can also contact a youth centre. You can also turn to the centre if a close relative is suffering from drug abuse. This is a free service. The youth centres offer therapy, various discussion groups and courses.

Most A-Clinics and youth stations have on-duty staffing for emergencies.

There are also low-threshold health counselling centres in Finland, such as ”Vinkki”, where intravenous drug users can visit anonymously without an appointment. The centres provide information, support and healthcare and replace used needles with new ones.

Drug abusers can also turn to their local health centre or a social service centre.
